Eucalyptus Oil (Melaleuca leucodendrom)

Wood white (the Melaleuca spp) belong to the family Myrtaceace and order Myrtalae. Some species have been known to produce eucalyptus oil and already organised commercially is m. leucodendrom, m. cajuputih Roxb and m. viridiflora Corn.

Eucalyptus oil is obtained by means of extract leaf plant eucalyptus blue to green, while the eucalyptus oil that has been purified yellow to colorless and smelling like camphor.

The main components in eucalyptus oil is sineol who reached 65%. With these components, eucalyptus oil can be directly used as medicines and perfume. Eucalyptus oil is also used as raw material for the pharmaceutical and perfume industries. Other plants also contain sineol is eucalyptus, with a more large levels i.e. around 85%.

World demand for oil eucalyptus was estimated at more than 100 tonnes per year with a landmark Asia's largest consumption, whereas in the world, the more used is the oil of eucalyptus.
